We missed the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) when we were in Hobart the first time, so we decided to spend another couple of days in Hobart because you can't spend 10 weeks in Tassie and not see MONA.
We stayed in a different caravan park this time, and again were struck by how much a park affects how you feel about a place. We should have stayed in Huonville and just driven up to Hobart for the day, but we didn't realise that before we did it.
Luckily we had two days, as it was my turn to be flattened with the charming cold. On the second day we went in to MONA.
Garry had some difficulties parking.
There were some attractive sculptures outside.
The building was cool, with great sandstone walls. We really liked the word fountain.
I liked the white library.
But that's about all that can be said about an art gallery where they say that if any piece is loved they'll take it out. It was an interesting experience but I guess I'm not really into 'modern art'. But maybe that's because I had a cold.
