Home - Canberra

I wasn't going to do a blog while we were home, but Canberra is a beautiful place and much ignored (or worse) by many travelers we meet. So, in defence of our wonderful home town, here we go.

Ah, Floriade, the bane of any photographer's life (not that I claim to be a photographer!) - so many photos, but what to do with them all?  I have taken photos at Floriade pretty much every year since it started in 1988, and I'm sure there are hundreds stacked in photo boxes in my cupboards. It's a bit easier now it's all digital. Here are a couple from our stroll this year.

Gorgeous flowers

Quirky sculptures

The lovely Commonwealth Park

And my favourite object from this year

We also went to Black Mountain Peninsular, which is wonderful place for family picnics.

Canberra in spring is all about blossoms, and here are a couple from our own garden.
